Soooo…. a couple of weeks ago, was the Greater Bay Area Costumer’s Guild Duchess of Devonshire Tea. I was pretty excited (and very happy to get tickets, they had a second event since the first one sold out so fast) because A) it’s not a time period usually done for historical events… they mostly do earlier in the 1700′s because everyone likes a Robe a la Francaise, and B) late 1700′s means OBNOXIOUS HAIR and CRAZY HATS, both things I love. Yay!

Of course, me being me, I didn’t actually *start* on the costume til like 3 days before. So, it was poorly made, and not quite finished, but hey, had the prerequiste OBNOXIOUS HAIR and CRAZY HAT.

I went with the Hedgehog Hair ™ and When Feathers Attack! Hat! ™ from the time period. It think the next one will be a Lampshade Hat. (you think i’m kidding, check this out!)

Well, on to the pics! (just to warn you, I forgot my fichu at home (scarf that covers certain overly visible tracts of land, not to mention, the top edge of my corset. *slinks off embarassed*)

See? hat of death. One of these days I’m going to finish this costume, and fix it, and embroider the skirt. Gack.
